Vientiane and Vang Vieng, Laos

After our amazing border crossing we acquired a new traveling buddy, O2 (like oxygen). The three of us went on a walking tour throughout all of Vientiane, passing the Presidential Palace, multiple temples, and Laos' version of the Arc du Triumph. We walked to the top of the Arc and were able to see a 360 view of the entire city which was pretty amazing. We had drinks at a "Sunset Bar" and were able to watch the clouds turn beautiful colors while lightning continuously flashed in a nearby dark cloud.

The next morning we all caught a bus to Vang Vieng and met a new traveling buddy, Claire. As a group of four we ran to the river to catch the last couple hours of tubing. And let me tell you... tubing here is crazy. As we were walking down to the water we could hear the music blasting from the first bar. Floating down all we could see were people in swimsuits, dancing, hanging out in hammocks, and flying off of huge rope swings. Of course we woke up early to have a full day of tubing yesterday and were able to take our time. The big excitement was that I actually did the rope swing! It was about 35 or 40 feet high and I needed a little help from an Australian but I did it! And I've got the massive bruises on the back of my legs to prove it!

The four of us are about to have a day of kayaking and caving and then I've already bought my orange shirt so I'm prepared for the final match tonight... lots of fun!
